My name is Jamie Lynn (Baker) Pfeil.

Pfeil is pronounced like the word file.  Easy to say, difficult to spell.

I have been a social studies teacher in my own classroom for the last five years.  I really love it!  I have thought for a long time about creating a blog or website to share resources and in February of 2013, I finally did.

Though some of the resources on this site come from my brain alone, many of the things I rely on day to day have come from the wonderful teachers I have had the pleasure of working with.  So, I don't take sole credit for anything on this site.  Rather, I just want to share ideas that are good for students.

I began my teaching career in Texas, then spent two years in Virginia.  Most of the resources on this site will be aligned to the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs).

Update: Two big changes for me: first - I moved to Wisconsin . . . then we had a baby!  I haven't been as active lately and am taking some time away from the teaching game, but look forward to adding some content aligned to the Wisconsin DPI when I am able.
